The Emirates Towers Complex is comprised of two towers: the Emirates Office Tower (also called Emirates Tower One) and the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel (or Emirates Tower Two). The two towers are connected together by a two-story retail complex, the Emirates Tower Boulevard, with two floors of designer boutiques stores including Giorgio Armani, Gucci, and Yves Saint Laurent. The two towers are among the tallest buildings in the world. The Emirates Office Tower, at 1163 feet is the 12th tallest building in the world, and the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel at 1,014 feet is the world’s 33rd tallest building, as well as the 4th tallest all-hotel building in the world.
Situated on Sheikh Zayed Road in the middle of Dubai’s business district, the Emirates Towers Complex was designed by architect Hazel Wong of the Canadian-based company Norr Group. The exteriors of the towers are faced with aluminum panels and silver and copper reflective glass. The three equilateral triangular forms are reflective of Islamic culture and symbolic of the earth, sun and moon. The towers are near the World Trade Centre and set within a 17-hecrate space of lush, landscaped gardens that include waterfalls and ornamental lakes. The Emirates Office Tower was completed in 1999 and the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in 2000.
The 56-story Emirates Office Tower is in a prime commercial location, right in the heart of Dubai’s business district.
